Krill Oil

Krill is a tiny, shrimp-like animal abundantly found in most cooler parts of the worlds oceans.  Krill is a staple food for whales, mantas, and whale sharks.

“Krill” is a Norwegian word meaning “whale food”.  There are untold amounts of Krill in the oceans, making it one of the largest numbers of species on the planet.  That makes some people feel better about harvesting modest numbers for human consumption.

Krill oil can be taken the same as fish oil pills, but the two shouldn’t be taken together.  Some people prefer the taste of the krill oil pills to fish oil pills.

Krill oil is beneficial for heart disease, blood fats (triglycerides), high cholesterol, high blood pressure, stroke prevention, cancers, osteoarthritis, depression, PMS and many other ailments.  Always consult a medical professional before starting or changing dosage of any medication.

Krill oil pills contain many of the same beneficial nutrients as fish oil pills.  High levels of DHA and EPA make krill oil pills as healthy as fish oil pills.  The cost of krill oil can be slightly lower than fish oil, but always go for the better quality of pills when deciding.
